In 1986-1991 Katarzyna Gilewska-Zagrodzińska studied at the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw in the violin class of Professor Paweł Łosakiewicz. In 1989, as member of the A’vista Quartet, she won 1st place in the 10th National Inter-school Chamber Music Competition in Łódź, devoted to the works of Franz Schubert and Joseph Haydn.
She commenced her cooperation with the Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra in 1987 and has been a full time member of the orchestra since 1993.
For her activity she has honoured with the Order of Distinguished Service for Warsaw in 2014.
