Waiting for Clarity. Advent Concert

Join us for the opening concert of the "Christmas with Sinfonia Varsovia" series featuring a performance by the VCR Choir conducted by Joanna Maluga. The special program, entitled Waiting for clarity, will be an attempt to chase away the darkness that surrounds us, especially at this time of year. Clarity is a noun that refers to both the quality of being translucently clear to the eye and the lack of ambiguity (as in “to have clarity”), but also to purity, sonority, and timbre of voice. Advent is a season that especially affirms the power, strength, and glow of a woman – Mary. For this reason, the VRC Choir’s program draws inspiration from the beauty of femininity. Infused with references to the Christian liturgy, the repertoire also includes the unchangeable parts of the ordinarium missae: the Kyrie from the Advent mass by Grzegorz Gerwazy Gorczycki, the Lord's Prayer, and the Advent antiphon O Oriens.
