The 12th edition of the Sinfonia Varsovia Academy will officially open with a concert on 27 August. The project aims to prepare young instrumentalists for performing in the finest Polish orchestras. The performers of the concert will include participants of the Academy’s new edition: 2 flutists, 2 clarinetists, a bassoonist, 2 trumpeters, a violinist, and a double bassist. This diverse lineup will allow for the combination of string and wind instruments. The young instrumentalists will be joined on stage by Sinfonia Varsovia musicians, including instrument tutors and graduates of previous editions of the Academy. They will perform Luigi Boccherini's light and witty String Quintet, Igor Stravinsky's impressive Wind Octet, and Witold Lutosławski's Dance Preludes in a version for 9 instruments.
