Who doesn’t like songs about Warsaw? August 1st is a day when the capital city is in the thoughts of many Varsovians, and one can’t help but hum melodies associated with Warsaw. So why not to devote an entire concert to them? To recall the romantic moments when the lilacs blossom in the botanical garden, to return in a brisk march to the Children of Warsaw and the difficult days of the Warsaw Uprising, and finally, to rejoice in the reconstruction of the city, through which the residents will be transported by an old-timey carriage, red bus, or tram, of course the one no. 18 with the view on Marszałkowska Street and the W-Z Route. Selected songs about Warsaw were arranged anew by Jarema Jarosiński for the musicians of Sinfonia Varsovia and soloist Lala Czaplicka, who continues the family tradition of pre-war song revues. We hope that this handful of refreshed musical memories and a piece by Tadeusz Baird, resident of Warsaw and the nearby Saska Kępa neighborhood, will suit the tastes of the audience.
