Warsaw University of Technology Academic Choir

Established in 2000, the Warsaw University of Technology Choir undoubtedly is one of the most dynamically developing vocal ensembles in Poland and one of the best academic choirs nationwide. The choir consists mostly of students and graduates of the Warsaw University of Technology, young and ambitious singers with a passion for choral music.

The ensemble is distinguished by its rich sound and an unusual stylistic flexibility. Its extensive repertoire primarily consists of contemporary a cappella music, including works rarely performed in Poland. The Warsaw UT Choir’s artistic output includes works by masters of the Renaissance and Romantic periods, as well as major vocal and instrumental forms (including K. Penderecki – Seven Gates of Jerusalem and works by J. Brahms, G. Mahler, J. Haydn, W. A. ​​Mozart and G. Rossini).

The choir won more than a dozen domestic and foreign choral competitions, including the Grand Prix at the Legnica Cantat National Choir Contest thrice.

Currently the Warsaw UT Choir performs more than 20 concerts a year, including regular participation in the prestigious cycle Wielka Muzyka w Małej Auli (Great Music in the Small Hall), organized under the auspices of the University, as well as cooperation with Polish philharmonic orchestras and participation in renowned festivals and film score projects. The ensemble boasts 20 world premieres of Polish and foreign music. The choir collaborated with many well-known composers and conductors, including K. Penderecki, V. Miškinis, B. Allred, K. Matsushita, V. Augustinas, A. H. Lim, and P. Mealor.

The Warsaw UT Choir is the organizer of the Vivat Academia Nationwide Student Choir Festival.
