Tymoteusz Hartman – pianist and composer, comes from a musical family. He started taking
music lessons at the age of 7 from Aleksandra Kowalik-Burdzy. He developed an early interest in jazz music and studied in this field with Michał Tokaj and Andrzej Jagodziński.
He completed his undergraduate studies at the Academy of Music in Katowice in the piano class
of Wojciech Niedziela, and currently continues his studies at the Fryderyk Chopin University of
Music in Warsaw in the class of Nikola Kołodziejczyk.
He carries on brisk concert activity as a jazz pianist. He has taken part in many festivals, including Krokus Jazz Festival in Jelenia Góra. He is involved as a session musician, also for symphonic projects, for example the cantata “Totus Tuus” by Jakub Milewski performed with the Płock Symphony Orchestra and vocalists Martin Fitch, Olga Szomańska and Michał Gasz.
He is a member of the Chopin University Big Band, with which he regularly performs. He also
collaborates with the ROMA Musical Theater, participating in its musical productions.
He founded the Tymoteusz Hartman Trio to perform his own music. His instrumental compositions are characterized by complex rhythmic structures with an irregular construction and the alternate use of oriental scales and lyrical melodies.
