Ramunas Motiekaitis studied composition with Osvaldas Balakauskas at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, with Olav Anton Thommessen and Ivar Frounberg at the Norwegian Academy of Music. Motiekaitis’s works have been performed at international new music festivals both in Lithuania and abroad. Five times his works were awarded as the best works of Lithuanian composers of the year.
The composer is interested in art theory and philosophy; he completed his doctoral research at University of Helsinki. He currently teaches at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre.
