The fourth edition of Summer Concerts at Grochowska Street begins next Saturday (10 May). As every year, the Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra welcomes listeners each Saturday and Sunday until the end of August to attend chamber music concerts in their home at 272 Grochowska Str. in Warsaw. Admission to all concerts is free!
“Summer Concerts at Grochowska Street” are a cycle of concerts which showcase outstanding artists of the young generation. This year these are, among others, Anna Maria Staśkiewicz (violin), Marek Bracha, Tomasz Ritter (piano), Marcin Zdunik, Dominik Płociński (cello), Marianna Bednarska (marimba) and Piotr Przedbora (guitar). Other musicians to perform will be recipients of grants of the Sinfonia Varsovia Foundation and participants in the elite Sinfonia Varsovia Academy project: Stanisław Podemski (violin) and Izabela Berdy (oboe). Other soloists include Sinfonia Varsovia musicians, including section leaders: Marcel Markowski (cello) and Katarzyna Budnik–Gałązka (viola), who received a Fryderyk award this year for the Viola Recital album (on DUX).

Summer Concerts at Grochowska Street will also feature performances by chamber ensembles, including the Ravel Piano Duo, Flute o’clock, Haniszewska - Kandulski Duo, proModern, BMF Piano Trio and Aperto Trio.
Don’t forget to be with us during a unique June Weekend with the French Horn, during which we will have an opportunity to hear Andrew Bain, first horn of the Los Angeles Philharmonic (Saturday, 7 June), performing in Poland for the first time and Grzegorz Curyła – first horn of the Welsh National Opera in Cardiff (Sunday, 8 June).
The concerts will be traditionally preceded by spoken introductions by musicologists and music critics who will introduce the audience to the environment and history surrounding the performed works. These include Michał Bruliński, Mariusz Gradowski, Karolina Kolinek-Siechowicz, Agata Kwiecińska, Piotr Maculewicz, Agata Mierzejewska, Agnieszka Topolska and Jan Topolski.

The Opening Concert will take place next Saturday (10 May), at 4:00 p.m., with Agata Szymczewska (violin) and Justyna Danczowska (piano) performing Schubert’s Sonatina in D major, Fauré’s Sonata in A major and Karol Szymanowski’s three impressionist sketches, the famous Mythes.
The next day will feature music of the 20th century, with the rarely encountered male soprano Michał Sławecki, accompanied by pianist Joanna Wicherek interpreting works by Lutosławski, Perkowski and Mykietyn.
Please visit us each weekend, from 10 May to 31 August, always at 4:00 p.m.

Admission to all concerts is free!
