Next Saturday, 2 December, (10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.), Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra’s home will magically transform into the kingdom of Santa Claus! Singing Christmas carols, music workshops, a musical journey to Lapland, Smykofonia [Toddler Philharmonic] concerts and many other attractions will be waiting for our youngest listeners from early in the morning.

Once again, the Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra welcomes all children to celebrate St. Nicholas’ Day at Grochowska Street. This time, we will embark on a musical journey to Lapland. Once there, together with Princess Musalinde we will discover how Santa Claus gets our letters and we will find out who helps him to pack presents. This interactive fairy tale with live music will transport viewers into an exciting world of sound, creative activities and a great deal of fun. Princess Musalinde will be played by Ewa Szawłowska, while piano and percussion accompaniment will be provided by Marcin Lemiszewski.

There is also a special treat prepared by students of the Young Music Teachers’ Association at the Music Academy in Łódź music workshops for children and their parents. In the course of three meetings, the participants will learn about musical instruments, sing Christmas carols together, enhancing the songs by a simple choreographic arrangement.

Traditionally, St. Nicholas’ Day at Grochowska Street will feature Smykofonia concerts – a series of mini concerts for children aged 0 to 5 years. The motto of this year’s edition is “Jack Frost Kissed My Nose” and the programme will feature warm-up songs that are just right on a frosty day. The songs will be sung by Ania Broda and on the stage with her we will see some unusual instruments, such as the hurdy-gurdy, the cimbalom, as well as the duduk and the saxonet.

Between the events we invite you to visit the bookshop and the café, make unique Christmas decorations, paint your faces and take souvenir photographs in the photo booth.

Admission to the music workshops and the “Journey to Lapland” musical fairy tale is free.

Tickets to Smykofonia concerts are 15 zł each, available at Empik stores and at
