The Sinfonia Varsovia String Quintet is unique in Poland. It consists of the entire family of string instruments, and the combination of two violins, a viola, cello and double bass, rarely seen as a quintet, allows not only for a depth of sound but also for the display of each instrumentalist’s virtuosity.
The ensemble was founded in 2015. Since then it has performed regularly in Poland and abroad, including in Niigata and Tokyo, Japan, and at the Vézère International Chopin Festival in Nohant, France. The group has also collaborated with world-class soloists, such as violinist Nicolas Dautricourt and pianists François Dumont and Miroslav Kultyshev. Audiences and critics alike have praised the quintet’s harmonious sounds, fresh interpretations and musical imagination.
The ensemble's first album will be released soon.
Their recording debut is the next stage in the quintet’s musical journey.
Concerts in Poland and further afield are also in the works.
