In the upcoming week we will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the death and the 82nd anniversary of the birth of Franciszek Wybrańczyk – a man of incomparable value for the history of our ensemble.
Franciszek Wybrańczyk (born 28 May 1934, died 31 May 2006) – long-running director and co-founder of Sinfonia Varsovia. He nurtured the best possible artistic quality of the ensemble and invited the greatest conductors and soloists to play with the orchestra. Wybrańczyk organised concert tours in the best concert halls in Europe, both Americas and Japan. He was a great visionary, setting momentous challenges for himself to consistently overcome them. He was also a great music enthusiast and a most charming man. Thanks to him, the impossible turned into the feasible.
