We will have an opportunity to hear the most beautiful music associated with the Christmas season during a Christmas concert performed by musicians of the Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra. The concert will take place on 18 December (Friday) at 6:00 p.m. Admission is free!
The Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra traditionally welcomes everyone to attend its Christmas Concert which will take place on Friday, 18 December in the Orchestra’s home at 272 Grochowska Street. The programme includes a generous helping of baroque music performed by the Sinfonia Varsovia String Quintet: Anna Maria Staśkiewicz, Zofia Endzelm (violins), Katarzyna Budnik-Gałązka (viola), Marcel Markowski (cello) and Michał Sobuś (double bass), accompanied by harpsichordist Jakub Dmeński.
Listeners will most certainly get into a holiday mood with the Concerto Grosso Op.8 No.6 in G minor “Christmas Concerto”, composed in 1698 by Giuseppe Torelli. We will also hear the famous Air on the G String from Orchestral Suite No.3 in D major by Johann Sebastian Bach and the Concerto for two oboes in C major by Antonio Vivaldi, featuring soloists Arkadiusz Krupa and Adam Szlęzak. There will also be a performance of the less frequently performed but quite noteworthy Concerto Grosso Op.3 No.12 by Francesco Manfredini.
Marcel Markowski and Michał Sobuś will try to enchant the audience with their virtuoso performance of the Duet for cello and double bass in D major by Gioacchino Rossini, an Italian composer of the Romantic era, known mainly for his operas.
The last part of the concert is the quintessence of Christmas – Carols arranged by Adam Szlęzak.
Admission to the concert is free. The number of seats is limited.
After the concert everyone is invited to join us for a Christmas Eve snack.
