The opening of a collective exhibition of old photography techniques will take place on Thursday 29 October at 6:00 p.m. “A Field of View/ A Place to Meet” will be available for viewing until 12 November. Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra invites everyone to visit its home in Kamionek in the Praga District of Warsaw. The exhibition is organised by Instytut Fotograficznych Technik Szlachetnych.

The international exhibition features guests of Instytut Fotograficznych Technik Szlachetnych and provides a review of old photography techniques. Artists featured in the exhibition continue old traditions in photography, thus their role in the survival and preservation of these techniques is invaluable in the context of strictly contemporary projects.

The exhibition consists of two parts. The first hall of the main building shows photographs which represent an innovative approach to the production of photographic images. The second hall shows neo-pictorial works, which show a classic approach to photography techniques. Photographs shown include the collodion wet plate process, palladium prints, gum bichromate, cyanotype, Van Dyke brown, lith prints, bromoils, collotype, gum prints, oils, gum oils and intaglio prints.

Locating the exhibition in the home of the Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra begins the cooperation on delivery of a joint project which is unique on a worldwide scale. The project will ultimately capture all members of the Orchestra on ambrotypes.

The latest photographs show participants of the 17th Chopin International Piano Competition captured using the collodion wet plate process.
