The Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra is taking part in the “Promotion of diversity in culture and arts within European cultural heritage” programme. The objective of the project is to establish contact and, in the long term, to commence cooperation with large symphony orchestras: the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, the Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra and local and regional cultural centres in Poland and Norway.

In the first stage of cooperation, representatives of the Bergen Philharmonic and of the Oseana Art & Culture Center in Os visited Warsaw. In the second stage, representatives of the Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra will become acquainted with the work of Norwegian institutions during a study visit in Norway that will take several days. Apart from the Philharmonic in Bergen and the Oseana Center, the Norwegian partners will also show their Polish guests the Førdehuset culture centre in Førde. The programme of the visit includes, among others, presentations of completed concert and educational projects and workshops intended to identify mutual problems and potential projects-solutions.

The concept of cooperation of Polish and Norwegian partners consists of establishing a group of institutions – orchestras and local cultural centres will diagnose the current situation and analyse the results of their activities, generating new solutions, establishing a new quality and sharing their experience with interested institutions in their respective countries. The joint Polish-Norwegian project stands a chance of evolving into a European venture, thanks to which a unique programme of activities will be established in the long term for various groups of recipients.
